Samson Kurehwatira

Samson was born on a farm near the Eastern Highlands town of Mutare, Zimbabwe.

It was while attending the Gonongono primary school that he developed an attraction to arts and crafts. However, once in high school, he found himself cut off from the sculptors he had access to in the other school.

Moving to Chitungwiza during those years, he was able to meet sculptors who would direct his talent to where it would serve him best.

Most of Samson’s art is abstract. A very quiet and likeable man, he married Harvine in 2003 and they have one child.
