Nelson Rumano

Nelson was born in 1955 in the Musunga village in the Murewa district of Zimbabwe to a family of seven boys and two girls.

Due to financial constraints, his parents could not afford for him to attend school after his primary years.

His inspiration to start sculpting came from his brother Gilbert and, after realising that his options were limited due to his education, Nelson studied and practised with a high level of dedication.

His reputation is such now that buyers regularly find their way to his home, an extremely difficult place to find for non- locals.

A very likable man, he married Irene in 1986 and they have a girl Philipah and son Shadreck.
